What is a WisdomCard?

Each WisdomCard provides useful links and resources for any health topic. They're created by OrganizedWisdom Guides and reviewed by doctors to make sure they are spam-free and organized. In addition to filtering out the bad links, WisdomCards highlight tips and warnings, such as Guide Favorite, Guide Warning and In Memoriam. Help us get better by sending feedback and link suggestions to feedback@organizedwisdom.com.

Ethics

Our mission is organize the world's best health information. We're building WisdomCards that are not only useful, safe, and credible, but also spam free and free of bias.

It's essential we promote transparency and avoid conflicts of interest and the appearance of impropriety. A conflict of interest is when you link to a site because you have a personal, professional or financial interest. There may be some cases where we will allow you to include such a link, for example, if you work for a related health foundation that produces particularly useful content. But, in most cases, we will not allow such links. And in all cases, there must be transparency and disclosure.

Examples of undisclosed conflicts of interest include:

  1. Accepting outside payment to do a WisdomCard
  2. Accepting outside payment to add a link to a WisdomCard
  3. Linking to your own blog without clear transparency and alerting our editors
  4. Linking to a site you write for without clear transparency and alerting our editors
  5. Linking to a site you work for without clear transparency and alerting our editors
  6. Linking to a site you own without clear transparency and alerting our editors
  7. Creating a page on a group you manage
  8. Creating a page on a company you work for without clear transparency and alerting our editors

If you create a page or use a link where you have a conflict of interest, without disclosure, that is grounds for immediate dismissal from the OrganizedWisdom Guide Program.

If you were unaware of this policy previously and linked to a site you shouldn't have, please let us know so we can update the page as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions about this policy, please contact guides <at> organizedwisdom <dot> com.
